Autologous Blood Donation refers to the patient donating his
or her own blood for
use in case of surgery. This can begin up
to 6 weeks before surgery. It will then be stored and reinfused
as needed during or after the surgery. As own blood is easily
accepted by the body, it is an extremely
safe way to help the patient in the recovery process. The body
will easily replace the blood cells and volume of fluid between
each donation.

the patient's own blood donation for such purpose.
